Job DescriptionSalary range: $92,070.28 to $
Salary commensurate with comparable Judicial Branch positions and candidate experience.

- Contribute to systemic leadership and direct operation of the entire District Probation Office.
- Serve as the face of the probation district, engaging stakeholders including judges, law enforcement, politicians, treatment facilities, community organizations, and referral resources.
- Supervise and direct all evidence-based probation services to enhance community safety and oversee probation staff.
- Develop and manage the district budget, purchasing, inventory, and accounting functions, and authorize expenditures.
- Disseminate and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and directives pertaining to district probation activities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in collaboration with division leadership.
- Directly supervise district probation staff, fostering a culture of ownership and psychological safety.
- Prioritize and assign work, conduct performance evaluations, ensure staff training, and enforce policies.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment and make hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions.
- Administer district probation programs and operations, including improvements and implementation of procedures.
- Ensure compliance with system rules and regulations.
- Implement policy changes from the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation.
- Direct the development and management of the district budget and review/approve budgets prepared by staff.
- Prepare reports on department performance, goals, budget, investigations, personnel, crime statistics, and related issues.
The salary range for this position is $92,070.28 to $ per year. Note, salary may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.
Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related fields and 2 years of supervisory or management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.

- Crisis and emergency management principles and practices.
- Grant administration and preparation.

- Monitoring and evaluating subordinates.
- Delegating and prioritizing work.
- Managing small to large district probation staff.
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving reports and statistical information and data.
- Preparing and administering grants.
- Handling stressful situations.
- Analyzing, recommending, and implementing changes in policies and procedures.
- Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Using computers and related software applications.
- Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Incumbents may be subjected to environmental threats, odors, dusts, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and travel.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
