Position Summary:

The Vice President of Accounting is a key member of the executive leadership team and serves as a strategic partner to the CFO. This role is responsible for leading the company’s accounting function while also overseeing treasury, lending relationships, payroll, and select operational areas including procurement and warehouse/distribution operations. This role requires a technically strong, confident accounting executive who builds culture, elevates teams, partners strategically, and operates as a true VP‑level leader.

The ideal candidate is a highly technical accounting expert who operates at public‑company standards, brings strong internal control discipline, and leads with humility, engagement, and accountability. This is a true VP‑level leadership position — not a senior individual contributor — requiring both hands‑on capability and executive‑level perspective.

This leader will elevate the accounting organization, strengthen cross‑functional alignment, enhance systems and controls, and help drive financial and operational excellence across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Lead technical accounting research and application of complex accounting standards.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, including SOX compliance.
  • Ensure system interconnectivity and integrity across financial platforms.
  • Oversee audit processes (internal and external).
  • Provide oversight of tax administration and manage relationships with external tax advisors.
  • Operate at public‑company reporting standards
Treasury & Lending Relationships
  • Oversee treasury operations and cash management strategy
  • Manage banking and lender relationships.
  • Supervise consumer lending relationships and frameworks.
  • Partner closely with FP&A on cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
  • Operational & Supply Chain Oversight
    • Provide executive oversight of procurement, vendor management, and warehouse/distribution operations.
    • Drive alignment between accounting, operations, and finance to optimize cash flow and efficiency.
    • Support vendor negotiations and cost‑management initiatives.
    • Lead process improvement and system enhancement initiatives (D365 experience preferred).
Strategic Leadership & Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Serve as a key liaison across Accounting, FP&A, IT, Operations, and Finance.
  • Drive cross‑functional initiatives to improve financial visibility, system effectiveness, and operational execution.
  • Provide financial insight to support executive decision‑making.
  • Identify root causes of operational or financial inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Compartmentalize effectively — balancing strategic leadership with appropriate tactical engagement.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, payroll team, treasury team, and operational team members.
  • Build high‑performing, collaborative teams.
  • Delegate effectively while remaining accessible and engaged.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop succession plans and elevate internal talent.
  • Maintain an approachable, present leadership style that encourages communication and trust.
