The Project Manager is responsible for the effective management of projects assigned and marketing the company and its services to obtain new projects.
This includes responsibility for building effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and staff and ensuring the effectiveness, quality, compliance, and profitability of each project. The Project Manager reports directly to the Division Manager.
The position will manage the client base that is assigned to them. Will be directly involved in the front‑end design of a project. The incumbent will also work directly on the project and manage the materials and labor for all specific project(s). May be involved in 1–2 large projects and multiple smaller projects at a time. The incumbent will be involved in many phases of individual projects.
EssentialJob Functions
- Project management as assigned.
- Manage the front‑end decisions of projects with regard to material and labor.
- Communicate with customers on a regular basis regard many factors of the project.
- Position focuses on low‑voltage projects that can include such items as security, copper and fiber communications cabling, sound systems, access control, and CCTV systems.
- Works with general foreman, technicians, and general labor on assigned projects.
- Delegates and oversees technicians on jobs – reviews work and completed projects.
- Must work within a timeline, budget, and material purchasing of each project.
- Deals with manufacturing representatives and distributors.
- Low Voltage systems knowledge is required for this position.
- Construction experience is a must for this position.
- Ability to work with complex projects, and understand details of project management.
- Capable of handling several projects at one time and work with various employee groups to conduct the project within budget and a given timeline.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information/material.
- Proficient computer skills, including email, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and accounting software, AutoCAD, and Visio experience are a plus.
- Mathematics – Using mathematics to solve problems. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work‑related documents.
- Time Management – Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

- Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
