KPMG is currently seeking a Manager Contracts (State & Local Government) to join our Enterprise Contracting Center (ECC) on our State & Local Government Team.
Responsibilities- Apply a thorough understanding of contract lifecycle management practices in the ECC to oversee and manage a portfolio of contracts; retain executed contracts and support data gathering for quarterly business reviews, audits, and client claims.
- Recommend and execute process enhancements, document policies, and manage the contract repository to ensure full value from contracts.
- Act as the end‑to‑end point of contact for the contract management process, escalating to leadership when necessary; review client redlines and terms, and negotiate with clients while ensuring input from risk management and legal experts.
- Interface regularly with business partners, clients, and internal teams to execute responsibilities and drive outcomes using standardized templates and clauses.
- Execute tactical plans that support strategic objectives, participate in client account planning, and provide guidance on key business/regulatory risks.
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, oversee work products, lead small projects, and mentor junior staff, including performance management where applicable.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful work environment.
- Minimum five years of recent experience managing a portfolio of commercial contracts, procurement, or drafting/negotiating contracts, including IDIQs, MSAs, STCs, prime contracts, subcontracts, and task orders; experience with state or municipal government entities and RFPs.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required;
Master’s, Certificate, or industry certifications (e.g., NCMA) are preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel).
- Capability to identify contract risks and mitigation strategies; strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Project management ability, establishing credible relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to engagement teams.
- Advocacy for leading contract lifecycle management practices and understanding of legal matters.
- Strong verbal and written communication, prioritization, delegation, and team development skills; ability to handle multiple projects.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship; KPMG will not sponsor for H‑1B, L‑1, TN, O‑1, etc.
California Salary Range: $101,200 - $215,100
