Are you ready to take the next step in your career and make a lasting impact in one of the nation’s top-performing Scouting councils? The Mid-America Council, Scouting America, is seeking ambitious and forward-thinking professionals to join us as candidates for the District Director position. This position would serve in the Omaha Metro area.
Responsibilities- Serve as the spokesperson for the district(s), ensuring Scouting is represented with professionalism and extraordinary customer service in all interactions.
- Provide coaching and leadership to professional staff in the district(s), ensuring alignment with the council’s strategic objectives.
- Recruit, develop, and support a strong volunteer team to drive district success, fostering a welcoming and mission-driven culture.
- Lead efforts to achieve key performance goals, including fundraising, membership growth and retention, volunteer engagement, and program excellence.
- Secure financial support to sustain and expand Scouting programs, including special events, community partnerships, and Investment in Character campaigns.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with schools, community leaders, and local organizations to strengthen Scouting’s impact.
- Maintain a collaborative and high-performance culture, attracting, retaining, and motivating top-tier volunteers and staff.
- Adapt to evolving council needs, taking on special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (a transcript with the date degree conferred is required for employment).
- Passion for the Scouting America mission and principles.
- Prior experience in Scouting, with a successful track record.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven fundraising success and community organization skills.
- Ability to manage staff effectively and oversee district operations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

Salary or Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 based on experience and qualifications.
