Global Health & Safety Lead – Full Time – Omaha, NE (Hybrid)

Wage: $110,000-$120,000/YR

The Global Health and Safety Lead (including duties of Regional Health and Safety Manager) provides subject matter expertise, strategy, and support to reduce injuries and risk, strengthen safety advocacy and assure environmental, health and safety compliance across the global program. They will lead the Health and Safety Program globally in addition to regional management.

Experience in developing and managing an occupational safety program is required. Experience managing a team of safety professionals to deliver EHS services or support the EHS function is expected. Outstanding communication and writing skills are required; experience operating within a global framework as well as project management is extremely helpful. The role is highly collaborative in nature offering support to multiple work groups.

• Provides subject matter expertise on the design and implementation of all policies and procedures regarding safety, health and environmental measures and precautions for the assigned account.
• Defines effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment, risk prediction, risk prevention processes to identify and mitigate hazards; inspects and tours facilities; defines KPIs, monitors accidents/near hits, and prepares required reports of organizational safety performance.
• Supports leadership globally in maintaining compliance with internal and external EHS policies/requirements, processes and procedures; manages change and growth.
• Partners with leadership to develop safety, health and environment KPIs to drive performance improvement.
• Maintains knowledge of safety and health rules and regulations including international, federal, state, and local.
• Maintains and presents the company’s safety metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and fiscal yearly basis.
• Assists in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and communication of lessons learned.
• Develops accident investigation programs, accident trends, and programs for improving performance.
• Hands‑on participation in and/or leads activities of the various sites and operations.
• Fosters a culture of safety, hygiene, health and environment through definition of programs, systems and processes, policies and procedures that are compliant with applicable law and guidelines and reflective of industry best practices.
• Educates, trains, and supports operations in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs.
• Collaborates with regional staff, corporate counsel, and stakeholders to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
• Processes documents and reports periodically to program management teams to identify hidden risks or non‑conformity issues.
• Manages the performance of a team of Environmental, Safety and Health professionals, including creating job descriptions, hiring, performance reviews and other HR responsibilities.
• Assists with the creation and management of the master statement of work for safety related activities and contracts.
• Manages client relationships and expectations through timely communication and interaction; measures client KPIs and SLAs as outlined in the Master Statement of Work.
• Responds to formal and informal employee safety concerns, including ergonomic assessments.
• Assists in the maintenance of employee environmental, health and safety communications and training programs.
• Conducts annual reviews and audit related documents in partnership with operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develops and supports framework for employee‑led safety committees across the team.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory developments within or outside the company as well as evolving best practices in health and safety.
• Uses client meeting technology, schedules and facilitates a variety of meetings and webinars to disseminate gathered information.
• Maintains a customer‑service approach to problem solving and works with client and program management to find solutions to health and safety concerns.
