Position SummaryThe Project Manager II within the Office of Special Projects will support the strategic initiatives of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The Project Manager II, with limited guidance, will oversee evaluation and performance measurement for planning, implementing, and reporting on key project and portfolio milestones for all capabilities, activities, and timelines of the assigned project. The PM will work on moderately complex projects with key stakeholders through the university to define, source, and track outcomes‑based metrics measured throughout the project.
The PM will conduct independent strategic task implementation and will bring together appropriate working groups of internal and external partners to achieve the goals of the program.
Salary Grade: AB24S
Salary Range: $73,300 – $117,300 annual
Appointment Type: B1 – REG MGR PROF SALARY
- 3 years related project management experience with projects in excess of one million dollars.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently to achieve departmental goals, deadlines, and desired outcomes.
- Strong follow‑up skills and ability to manage a long and complex to‑do list in the face of tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Proficiency in Microsoft One Drive, Teams, Zoom, Planner.
- Experience with preparation of written documents and/or proofreading; experience with leadership reports; experience in an academic setting.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute or Green Belt.
- Strong background in research, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, One Note, Smartsheet, Forms, REDCap, Qualtrics.
