Management Training Program, Operations Supervisor

When joining our Management Training Program, you will start as an Operations Supervisor. The 20‑week program trains you in all aspects of our company and industry from a service‑center perspective. You will work at one of our 240 nationwide service centers and will likely need to relocate. Training focuses on front‑line supervisory duties and includes safety, maintenance, and transportation procedures. You will observe supervisors during inbound, outbound, city, and DC shifts, spend time with Arc Best Account Managers, and learn how to manage accounts proactively.

After training, you will be placed as an Operations Supervisor at a facility across the continental United States. The program provides a foundation for future leadership roles within Arc Best and ABF Freight.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.
  • Coordinate work assignments and monitor performance.
  • Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations when needed.
  • Assign job tasks to workers according to unloading and loading schedules.
  • Plan, supervise, and control available resources for the timely, damage‑free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
  • Maintain appropriate load plans and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.
  • Support a values‑driven culture focused on creativity, integrity, collaboration, growth, excellence, and wellness.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
Requirements Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (required).
Additional Requirements
  • General knowledge of freight, imports, exports, and proper freight handling techniques (preferred).
  • Must be willing to relocate (required).

Compensation
  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.
