This is a full-time negotiated position. Sal grade: 33D plus additional 10% of hourly salary

This position is a working lead that assists in guiding work duties of night custodial staff. This position is also responsible for keeping the school building in clean and orderly condition performing any combination of following duties: sweeps, mops, scrubs (operates scrubbers), cleans hallways, cafeteria, kitchen and school rooms. Empties trash and garbage containers. Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.

Replaces air‑conditioner filters. Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk. Mows lawn, sports field, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers.

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors and stairs.
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
• Dust and clean office desks and furniture.
• Clean windows and window sills.
• Willingness and ability to follow approved procedures for cleanup and proper disposal of bodily fluids, required.
• Secure premises by locking doors and windows.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

This position may require the ability to use hand tools (hammers, screw drivers, pliers, wrenches, and sockets), power tools (impacts and drills), weed eater, leaf blower, washing machine, carpet machine and other basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use.

Local travel may be required.

Standing: Occasional:
Monitoring trash cans during lunch periods; working on ladders changing light bulbs and cleaning vents.

Walking: Frequent:
Operating the floor scrubber, push mower, carpet machine, weed eater, leaf blower. Spreading salt and gravel during icy weather. Accessing different areas of the building and campus (machine shed). Walks on various terrains, during all weather conditions.

Sitting: Rarely-Occasional:
Operating the large mower-mowing large field, using the computer to check emails.

Lifting: Occasional:
Performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Daily: Bags of trash 12-40 lb. from 37” (top of bag) to ~50” (dumpster). Rate will vary.
Daily: Lifting (folding) cafeteria tables 55 lb. of upward force at 17”-~50”; 38 tables but two individuals available.
Rarely: Bags of Calcium Chloride (salt) 50 lb. from pallet to spreader.
Rarely: Ladders: 16’ Werner Ladder Model 416 77.5 lb.; 12’ Werner Ladder Model 412 55 lb.

Carrying: Occasional:
Moving equipment; tools and materials.

Pushing/Pulling: Occasional:
Operating the floor scrubber - initial force 25-30 lb.; sustained force ~25 lb. Pulling out bleachers with tool with hook (2 person) waist height. Force will vary.

Climbing: Occasional:
