Join the Open Door Mission's team of dedicated staff who are committed to full-time Christian ministry and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty!
Open Door Mission is a gospel rescue mission, serving the Greater Omaha Area by providing short-term and long-term shelter, life-changing programs addressing root causes of homelessness and poverty, and homeless prevention resources to those in need.
ABOUT THIS POSITIONYou will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
RESPONSIBILITIESA full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
- Completing work orders for various maintenance and repair tasks (clogged sinks, broken tiles, burnt out light bulbs, etc.).
- Being readily available during scheduled shift (via phone/email) for urgent maintenance requests.
- Maintain compliance of all company procedures, safety rules, and OHSA guidelines.
- Snow Removal during the winter season.
- Monitoring material and janitorial supplies.
- A visible relationship with Jesus Christ, and ability to share the gospel as opportunities arise.
- Consistent attendance at a local Christian church
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of maintenance or construction experience
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating a forklift or bobcat
- Has at least 2 years of plumbing experience
- Has at least 2 years of construction or facility management experience.
- Has at least 2 years of small engine or vehicle mechanics experience.

- Job Type: Full Time
- Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
- Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and one rotating Saturday per month 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
