Job description
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Lead to support our Florence Home Healthcare Center and Royale Oaks and House of Hope Assisted Living communities. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Qualified candidates must have a passion for working with the elderly and be committed to upholding our core values of Integrity, Dignity, Teamwork, and Compassion.
As a Maintenance Lead, you will:
- Oversee and provide daily maintenance operations in either our skilled nursing or assisted living community.
- Perform maintenance tasks for all buildings, equipment, and grounds including basic plumbing, electrical repair, HVAC, carpentry, as work orders dictate.
- Assistance in resident room moves as needed.
- Responsible for drywall repair and painting.
- Cover on-call on a rotational basis. During on call, must be able to arrive at facility within 60 minutes of being notified of an issue that must be resolved before "normal business hours."
- Maintain cleanliness of all property grounds including sidewalks, driveways and parking lots daily including picking up litter.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and long-term care standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inspection records.
- Assist in the maintenance and care of snow removal, prior to inclement weather salting and assisting contractors as needed.
- Assist in routine fire drills in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist in the education of employees regarding fire and safety procedures for the facility by providing tour of facility to point out location and use of fire and safety equipment, physically demonstrating safety equipment operation, and answering questions regarding fire and safety equipment.
- Experience in general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds including basic plumbing, electrical repair, and the knowledge and use of lawn care tools and products including snow removal.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- Specific physical requirements: must be able to lift 75 pounds from ground to waist, can move around the grounds and buildings in a timely manner, and use stairs and ladders.
- Be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid in good standing driver's license and a clean criminal record.
- Arrive on time and work as scheduled.
