The Maintenance Lead is an integral part of our Maintenance team based in Omaha, NE – Nutritionals site. The hourly rate range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00.
Position DetailsThe Maintenance Lead is part of our Production team in Omaha, NE. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of production line equipment, supervises and directs Maintenance Technicians, and contributes to a growth-oriented environment. This position reports to the Project Manager with working hours Monday-Friday, with flexibility as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical experience or certification preferred.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and protocols.
- Conduct more complex maintenance tasks and troubleshooting.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Assist in training employees on SOPs and tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with planning and scheduling maintenance work.
- Be a member of the on-call rotation and respond to the plant when required.
- Approve work orders and assign as needed to the Maintenance Technician.
- Determine weekend overtime to complete or lessen downtime of production.
- Develop relationships with vendors and repair part manufacturers.
- Maintain maintenance records, including EMAINT.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience, with some leadership or supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge in maintenance and repair of complex systems and machinery.
- Ability to lead a small team of technicians, providing guidance and support.
- High proficiency in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks for the team.
- Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently by balancing urgent repairs with regular maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Ability to inspire and motivate the maintenance team with clear direction and set expectations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information and instructions clearly.
- Ability to listen and understand team members’ concerns and feedback.
- Communicate effectively with other departments inside and outside of the location.
- Ability to think critically and adapt to changing situations to address and resolve maintenance challenges.
- Physically able to lift 55 lbs. on a continuous basis; must be able to stand, climb steps, bend, and walk throughout the shift.
