Schmitt Music is seeking a full-time Instrument Repair Technician for our Omaha, NE location. The purpose of this job is to provide excellent customer service and help fill the world with music. The successful candidate will help fulfill our mission:

Instrument Repair Technician
Reports To:
Repair Manager
- Perform instrument repairs to restore instruments to optimal playing condition, including replacing pads, springs, corks, felts, screws, soldering, brazing, or welding metal components.
- Inspect instruments for damage, wear, and malfunctioning parts, providing scope of work and repair estimates to customers.
- Interact with customers to understand repair needs, provide estimates, and offer advice on instrument care and maintenance; communicate repair status effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and repair statuses.
- Keep the repair shop clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and using appropriate protective equipment for tools, chemicals, and machinery.
- This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Retail and shop-type working conditions.
- Physical demands: frequent use of hands, fingers, arms, standing, walking, sitting; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Preferred Qualifications- Degree or certificate from an accredited repair school or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a timely manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for communication, email, virtual meetings, and reporting.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Have a great attitude and enjoy repair.
