Legal Assistant – Corporate and Estate Planning

Lamson Dugan & Murray LLP is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our growing Corporate and Estate Planning Department
. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working on sophisticated corporate matters.

Headquartered in Omaha, NE, Lamson Dugan & Murray (LDM) has more than 45 attorneys practicing within the areas of litigation and corporate law. LDM’s extensive experience enables the Firm to offer expertise in 25 different practice areas, allowing the Firm to remain committed to quality representation, accessibility, and relentless hard work on behalf of clients. LDM also has a growing location in West Des Moines, IA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling corporate and transactional matters
  • Assist with entity formation, governance documents, and regulatory filings
  • Assist with estate planning documents and trust/estate administration matters
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and document tracking for multiple matters
  • Coordinate signatures, closings, and due diligence materials
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and internal staff
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary, preferably in corporate or transactional law
  • Strong knowledge of legal document formatting and proofreading
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with document management systems a plus
  • Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred (But Not Required)
  • Experience with entity management and corporate filings
  • Experience with estate planning and administration
  • Familiarity with transactional closings and due diligence processes
