Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintains network‑related site licenses for the department/organization.
• Designs, analyzes, and supports the organization’s LAN, WAN, VoIP infrastructure, and Internet systems.
• Installs and configures network/VoIP hardware and software.
• Monitors network to ensure availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance.
• Leads staff in troubleshooting network performance issues, analyzes traffic, and prepares capacity‑planning reports.
• Uses service‑management tools to track and document issues, requests, incidents, and projects.
• Participates in the change‑management process and communicates changes that may impact operations.
• Documents time (worked and non‑worked) for tickets and projects on a daily/weekly basis.
• Designs and recommends short‑term and long‑term network and security architectures and strategies.
• Manages and validates data and voice network‑system backups and assists in business‑interruption and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Develops and implements policies for network asset management, including inventory, documentation, and technical specifications.
• Evaluates and recommends purchases of network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software; designs, configures, and installs complex voice, data, and server network systems.
• Interacts with internal and external clients to identify requirements and resolve network issues.
• Provides project leadership as a technical lead, including re‑planning projects or recommending project termination when necessary.
• Provides leadership, training, mentoring, and guidance to enable team members to complete assigned tasks.
• Creates, updates, and implements network configuration, build specifications, and installation documentation and procedures.
• Coordinates with the security team to scan, harden, and protect systems against threats, and responds to security vulnerabilities, attacks, and events.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and service providers to address system issues.

• Contract‑to‑hire position with potential for direct hire.
• Expert level experience in network engineering and network security.
• Proficiency with firewalls, routers, Juniper, Palo Alto, Citrix, Google Workspace, Solar Winds, Lansweeper, and Manage Engine.
• Experience with service‑management tools and change‑management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and capacity‑planning skills.
• Hybrid work capability; may require in‑person presence during training and onboarding.
