Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

We are seeking a senior Dev Ops Engineer to help modernize enterprise Dev Sec Ops  practices, uplift development pipelines, and enhance cloud governance standards across the organization. This role sits within the Software Engineering department and supports teams that vary in engineering maturity, requiring a strong technical leader who can guide others while driving platform modernization.

This position is on‑site and offers the opportunity to influence large‑scale Dev Ops transformation, build secure‑by‑default delivery patterns, and improve pipeline automation standards.

Job Objective

This role proactively and holistically leads the creation, improvement, and support of foundational Dev Ops tools, processes, and governance frameworks. These solutions enhance application development, deployment, security, and operational efficiency—ultimately improving delivery capabilities and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Dev Sec Ops  & Cloud Governance
  • Lead modernization of Dev Ops and Dev Sec Ops  capabilities across the development organization.
  • Implement governance‑as‑code standards for cloud, CI/CD, security, and compliance.
  • Perform gap analyses of Azure Dev Ops pipelines against security benchmarks.
  • Create automated, real‑time security and compliance reporting directly from pipelines.
  • Integrate security scanning (SAST, DAST), SBOM generation, and package scanning tools.
Pipeline Modernization & Engineering Support
  • Build and maintain modern, version‑controlled YAML‑based pipelines.
  • Help teams transition to Git Hub/Git Lab‑based workflows as the platform evolves.
  • Support modernization efforts to move away from legacy tooling (e.g., Octopus).
  • Assist engineering teams that may not have deep development or Dev Ops backgrounds.
Automation & Tooling
  • Automate compliance evidence collection and detect security regressions.
  • Integrate vulnerability reporting into internal developer portals.
  • Support engineering teams in building cloud‑native delivery practices.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with architecture, cloud centers of excellence, and security teams.
  • Support the creation of organization‑wide “golden paths” for development and deployment.
Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years in IT design/implementation across at least two areas: infrastructure, networking, application development, middleware, APIs, servers/storage, cloud, virtualization, or Active Directory.
  • Strong exposure to diverse tech stacks and environments.
  • Background supporting agile teams and understanding technical/architectural debt.
  • Experience modernizing CI/CD ecosystems.
  • Development experience (.NET/C#/VB) is highly beneficial.
  • Scripting experience (Power Shell preferred; Shell scripting also acceptable).
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and code‑based pipeline patterns.
  • Azure Dev Ops experience strongly preferred;
    Azure cloud familiarity required.
  • Experience with Git Hub/Git Lab or readiness to adopt Microsoft‑stack SCM tooling.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Splunk) is a plus but not required.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus, not required.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Candidate must provide official college transcripts.
Interview Process
  • Multi‑stage interview process.
  • Includes Math/Technical assessments.
  • Requires two completed references.
