Data Business Analyst

As a Data Business Analyst, you play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive product development and customer success. This role ensures that our products/services meet our customer/market needs and are delivered with the highest quality standards. We are looking for an individual with a collaborative mindset, an inquiring nature, strong critical thinking skills, and love of problem solving.

In this role, you will help develop software solutions within a cross-functional Agile team.

• Write concise user stories with clear acceptance criteria and develop risk-based testing strategies.
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and design teams to discover, define, and design features that meet user needs.
• Gather requirements through interviews, surveys, workflow analysis, and observation; distinguish user requests from actual needs.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define data requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business objectives.
• Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Design and implement test plans to verify applications meet requirements, acceptance criteria, and performance goals.
• Recommend and implement manual or automated testing using contemporary frameworks.
• Extract, transform, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability of analysis.
• Actively engage in Agile ceremonies: planning, retrospectives, demos, and daily stand-ups.
• Maintain a 'test to break' mindset; proactively communicate defects with solutions and work with the team to resolve issues.
• Arrange and perform user acceptance testing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop expert knowledge of our customer base, industry trends, and product analytics.
• Write or review supporting documentation for the software, such as release notes, help documentation, articles, and features
• Document data definitions, methodologies, and analytical processes to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and management.
• Serve as a liaison to the support staff and other departments when development-related scenarios arise.

Understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, testing best/emerging practices, basic automation frameworks, tools, and processes.

Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.

Experience with data visualization tooling.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Superior presentation and negotiation skills; able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.

Strong adaptability and capacity to work on multiple projects.

Able to prioritize tasks according to importance and severity.

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Business, Communication or related field or experience as a Business and/or Quality Analyst. Strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and analytics best practices. Experience with Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages is a plus. Understanding of the software design lifecycle and project management.

Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.

Travel as needed, including overnight, business air travel, and car rental.
