Position Summary

Provide support for the UNMC campus compensation/classification activities which includes job documentation, job evaluation, salary administration with guidance and direction from the Compensation Administrator. In addition, assist with Compensation and other department projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Human Resources. (Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.)

Required Experience

Less than 1 year. Human Resources Compensation and/or Finance related experience. (Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.)

Required License

No license required.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of human resource related laws and regulations
  • Understanding of general compensation philosophy and methodology for conducting market analysis
  • Ability to project a positive image for the university and effectively work as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change
  • Ability to continuously learn and pursue self-development through personal study, training and education
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Ability to research trends and make recommendations based on trends or changes in State and/or Federal laws
  • Ability to take initiative to handle multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision; strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven project management skills, including relationship building and presentation skills
  • Public contact position requiring appropriate business-like apparel
  • Regular attendance and timeliness are essential – work schedule 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Ability to commit whatever time or effort is required to meet customer/manager and employee needs

Preferred Education

MBA

Preferred Experience

Compensation administration experience to include job evaluations and market analysis; experience in an academic health science center.

Preferred License

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
