Job Purpose
Manage banquet service operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with corporate/franchise policies while meeting financial goals. Responsible for long‑term planning and day‑to‑day operations of the banquet section, recommending policy changes and maintaining the kitchen budget within approved constraints.
Responsibilities- Analyze banquet event orders, communicate effectively with customers, managers and associates to ensure all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet or exceed expectations.
- Review schedules, equipment and supplies to organize workflow and maintain quality events daily.
- Monitor and control banquet budget (labor costs, beverage costs, supplies and equipment) and coordinate with event budgets to maximize revenue and minimize expenses while providing quality guest service.
- Implement company programs and resolve daily operational problems through consistent monitoring of banquet operations ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations and optimal service, quality and hospitality.
- Supervise banquet human resources, hiring, training, coaching and performance reviews, resolving problems and maintaining open communication, recommending discipline and termination as appropriate.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of catering, food and beverage and hospitality management.
- Ability to investigate and analyze current activities and provide logical conclusions and recommendations.
- Decisions generally guided by established policies and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; second language preferred.
- Professional appearance, excellent hearing and vision for guest interaction.
- Basic math skills for handling cash or credit.
- Passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication and writing skills for paperwork and information updates.
