Overview
The Clinical Lead, under the direction of a provider, works as part of the medical office team performing clinical and clerical duties necessary to meet the goal of providing primary healthcare. Duties include preparing patients for visits, gathering information, assisting providers with procedures, answering the phone, making appointments, preparing medical charts, registering patients, performing laboratory procedures, distribution and/or administration of medications and assisting the medical staff.
The Clinical Lead for the clinic will serve as a liaison between the clinic and nursing leadership Clinical Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the support staff including scheduling of HA's, MAs, CCMAs, staff orientation and training, giving feedback for performance appraisals and ensuring smooth clinic flow and the completion of necessary tasks in a timely fashion.
The clinical lead will provide support to the Immunization Coordinator as needed. The Clinical Lead will also give feedback to leadership on issues or needs that could impact the clinics.
- Prepare patients for visits and gather information to support clinical care.
- Assist providers with procedures and support clinical staff as needed.
- Answer phones, make appointments, register patients, and prepare medical charts.
- Perform laboratory procedures and assist with distribution and/or administration of medications.
- Serve as a liaison between the clinic and nursing leadership at One World.
- Oversee day-to-day operation of support staff, including scheduling HAs, MAs, and CCMAs.
- Coordinate staff orientation and training; provide feedback for performance appraisals.
- Ensure smooth clinic flow and timely completion of tasks.
- Provide support to the Immunization Coordinator as needed.
- Provide feedback to leadership on issues or needs that could impact the clinics.
- 1. High school diploma or GED minimum.
- 2. Graduate of Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant program and Medication Aide certificate required. AAMA certification, if applicable.
- 3. CPR/BLS certification preferred.
- 4. Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- 5. Proficiency in English required for all locations; proficiency in Spanish required or preferred depending on clinic location and need.
- 6. Previous health care experience required.
- 7. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to One World patients and staff.
- 8. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
- 9. Flexibility with changing work schedules.
