Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend requirement

• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

• 28-bed Progressive Care Unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

• Care for adult patients including mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients

• Required to titrate drips including heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintenance IV medications

• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry monitoring

• Floating requirements to Med/Surg and other areas including ICU/ED based on abilities

• Navy blue scrubs required - artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas

• Must pass open book skills exam with 90% score during orientation or face termination

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Driver's license required for submittal to verify 50-mile radius requirement

• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts of unit-specific training

• Use EPIC charting system

• High-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges

• Work with specialty equipment including code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lifts

• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any Common Spirit affiliated facility

This progressive care facility operates a 28-bed stepdown unit providing intermediate-level care for patients who require more intensive monitoring than general medical-surgical floors but less than intensive care. The facility emphasizes teamwork and collaborative care delivery with specialized equipment and comprehensive telemetry monitoring capabilities. The organization maintains high standards for patient care with structured orientation programs and ongoing professional development opportunities.
