Position SummaryEnsures that all clinical services scheduled at Munroe‑Meyer Institute (MMI) have appropriate demographics and insurance updated in EPIC. Ensures that insurance accounts are built accurately and that all clinical services are properly authorized. Verifies eligibility, pre‑determination, and pre‑authorization requirements for all clinical services at MMI.
Required EducationHigh School education or equivalent. (Will consider related post‑high school education in lieu of required experience.)
Required Experience3 years. General office support experience, including at least one year of clinical scheduling, intake, referral coordination, or related healthcare setting.
Required Computer ApplicationsMicrosoft Outlook.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of scheduling health care services and ability to utilize clinical scheduling software.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and set deadlines.
- Strong communication skills; professional interaction with individuals at all levels.
- Strong customer focus; ability to communicate in a supportive capacity and identify & triage health care needs.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third‑party insurance billing protocols and pre‑authorization guidelines.
- Familiarity with medical billing such as CPT, HCPCS, ICD9 coding.
- Ability to handle confidential matters discretely.
Relevant coursework or specialized training; post‑high school education with coursework in business.
Preferred ExperienceHealth care service delivery coordination and clinic scheduling.
Preferred Computer ApplicationsMicrosoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of EPIC desirable.
- Preferred experience working with persons with disabilities and interdisciplinary care teams.
