The Organ Administrator On Call Manager leads the Organ Administrator On Call (AOC) team, ensuring excellence in organ referral and donation processes while maintaining compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight, driving improvements in workflow, staffing, and technology to support organizational goals.
Role Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop the AOC team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OPTN, CMS, FDA, CDC, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Create and manage comprehensive schedules to maintain optimal staffing and accommodate training needs.
- Oversee Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Preventive Action Reports (PAR), including root cause analysis and implementation of solutions.
- Develop and update policies to ensure regulatory compliance and effective communication.
- Participate in hiring processes for new AOC team members.
- Provide mentorship, training, and education to the Organ Services Division.
- Analyze staffing needs, plan for growth, and manage annual budgets and resource allocation.
- Drive continuous workflow improvements and monitor progress for sustained efficiency.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects of organ donation.
- Represent Live On Nebraska at local, regional, and national meetings (AOPO, UNOS/OPTN, etc.).
- Adhere to all organizational policies, SOPs, and conflict of interest guidelines.
- Ability to work 12-hour or 24-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the department.
- At least 2 years of experience working at an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO).
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field or minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in an Organ Procurement Organization.
- Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or other ABTC certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations empathetically.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
