Overview
Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Mental Health Tech, you will be vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You ll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving.
Responsibilities- Provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients.
- Manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones.
- Handle back office tasks such as refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation.
- Maintain a trauma-informed care atmosphere, support patient self-expression, and assist in problem-solving and testing new behaviors.
- Provide feedback and positive reinforcement to help patients acknowledge and accept responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns, applying program rights, regulations, and behavior modification strategies, while communicating appropriately with patients.
- Provide appropriate emergency care and maintain a safe environment; act as a resource for emergencies and assist the nurse with orders within the scope of practice.
- Offer trauma-informed care and supervision to patients requiring physical restraints or seclusion.
- Assist patients with relationship challenges, support socialization skills, and facilitate educational and psych-educational activities as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively using verbal and written methods within a diverse and multicultural environment; maintain networks with the interdisciplinary team and participate in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, safety, infection control programs, program development, and training as assigned by leadership.
- High School Graduate with at least 1 year of experience in mental health, upon hire
- Basic Life Support (CPR), upon hire
- Basic Life Support Instructor, upon hire
- First Aid, within 6 months
- Bachelors degree in Human Service field or one year of experience in the Behavioral Health field, upon hire
- Graduate of a Psychiatric Assistant and Nurse Aide training program, upon hire

Pay Range$16.83 - $23.77 /hour
