Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in‑clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.
- Performs duties according to department and campus specific expectations as identified and assigned.
- Accurately schedules procedures and follows up on scheduling variations to optimize patient safety.
- Responsible for answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments.
- Receives, prioritizes and responds to incoming calls as appropriate.
- Communicates with patients regarding appointments and instructions for procedures and tests.
- Manages direct fax scheduling requests and the handling of scanned documents within the software system.
Required

- Medical Terminology experience or equivalent hospital experience.
