The Exercise Assistant on East Campus supports each resident’s physical and functional wellness program while collaborating with the therapy team. The exercise assistant will work alongside direct care team members in playing an active role in supporting resident ADL's. This is a physical position with time spent facilitating traditional therapies as well as:

Adaptive Sports – think tandem bike riding, rock climbing, archery and golf

Virtual Reality – who wouldn't want to travel through space and time?

Other creative therapy methods – you are only limited by your creativity

The Exercise Assistant complies with the resident’s therapy program, reports residents’ participation & progress in exercise program to therapists, and attends care conferences with residents, family members, and other healthcare professionals. The Exercise Assistant will occasionally conduct in-service training to other team members, as well as participate in new team member orientation.

• Understand and provide instruction with exercise program (secondary to plan of care)
• Accurately complete written documentation
• Possess knowledge of proper body mechanics
• Respond appropriately to feedback from residents and other team members
• Be an optimistic and collaborative team player
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Be patient with others and creatively solve problems
• Possess excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrate an ability to learn new skills

• Must be at least 18 years old (required)
• Certified as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Nebraska (required)*

* We will provide PAID certification training for the right candidate, if needed

Annual flu vaccine is required during flu season. If needed, we will provide vaccination at QLI, free of charge.

Full-time, 40 hours/week. Four days from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, one day from 1 PM to 9 PM, and one weekend shift.
