Position Summary

Our Ultrasound Technologists provide a variety of exams on inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients to visualize internal anatomy and function. These technologists assist physicians in identifying normal and abnormal results and communicate a summary of findings.

    Every Other Wednesday 7 a‑5 p
Position Requirements Education
  • Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
Licensure
  • ARDMS – required.
  • RVT – preferred.
Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
Experience
  • 2+ years in a diagnostic ultrasound department – required.
  • 2+ years in vascular ultrasound – preferred.
  • 1+ year with Phillips US machines – preferred.
  • 1+ year with Toshiba (Trophon) – preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, acquiring high‑quality images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Obtain and relay accurate, complete patient history to supervising radiologist.
  • Conduct safety evaluations on equipment following established guidelines.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • Understand anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain supplies.
  • Follow department protocols to obtain necessary images.
  • Adapt to patient limitations to obtain required images.
  • Perform exams independently.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Participate in annual performance improvement education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles and requires exertion of up to 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10–25 pounds of force constantly, to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must pass a background check, pre‑employment physical and drug test. Any offer depends on successful completion of background check, physical and drug screen, and active licensure as required.
