RN - Stepdown

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Department: CVU (Cardiovascular Unit)
• 18-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (1:3 for post-surgical patients in first 24 hours)
• Care for patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients
• Support thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart procedures
• Common diagnoses include Cath Lab patients, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR, and cardiac/vascular conditions
• Required to titrate drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and blood pressure medications
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips with remote tele techs and hardwired capabilities
• Float to all same level and lower acuity units
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation tailored to experience
• Pass/fail open book exam on Friday during orientation requiring 90% to pass
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• 1 year of experience with this patient population required
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• EPIC charting system
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with Common Spirit facilities
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract)
