Position SummaryOur Ultrasound Technologists provide a variety of exams on inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients to visualize internal anatomy functions. These technologists assist the physicians in identifying normal and abnormal results and communicate a summary of results found.
Status & SchedulePart‑Time (0.6 FTE / 24 hrs)
Schedule:
Thur & Fri 7a‑5p;
Every Other Wednesday 7a‑5p
Education
:
Completion of a CAAHEP accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
Licensure
:
- ARDMS required
- RVT preferred
Certification
:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Experience
:
- 2+ years working in a diagnostic ultrasound department (required)
- 2+ years in vascular ultrasound (preferred)
- 1+ year with Phillips US machines (preferred)
- 1+ year with Trophon (preferred)
- Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, acquiring appropriate and good quality images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist.
- Obtain and clearly relay an accurate and complete patient history to the supervising radiologist.
- Perform the minimally required safety evaluations on the equipment by following established guidelines to detect problems.
- Effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Maintain necessary supplies.
- Follow established department protocols to obtain the necessary images for a supervising radiologist.
- Adapt and adjust to the patient's abilities and limitations, when necessary, to obtain the required images.
- Perform independently to complete a variety of exams.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Participate in annual performance improvement education.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Background & ComplianceMust pass background check. We also conduct pre‑employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
