Job Summary And ResponsibilitiesUp to $20,000 sign‑on bonus and $10,000 educational assistance available to external candidates! We currently have an amazing opportunity in our Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology Lab for a Cath/IR Invasive Technologist. Working in our fast moving Cath/IR Lab offers a variety of procedural exposure for radiology technologists and RCIS techs who can wear many hats and think quickly on their feet while providing the best patient care.
The cath/IR lab invasive tech assists the team in performing catheterizations and angiograms, monitors and examines patients before, during, and after the procedure, and assists the physician and medical team as needed with supply knowledge and management.
- Float between Omaha Metro Cardiac Cath Labs, as needed (float differential applied to base rate)
- Effectively communicate and work cooperatively with team members, patients, families, guests, and providers; assist with pre‑procedure education and preparing patients for the procedure.
- Check and verify vital signs, meds, NPO status, lab results, and medical history before procedures.
- Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during the procedure.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure patients have a thorough understanding of the procedure and are able to answer questions as needed.
- Operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Recognize and report changes in cardiac rhythm.
- Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms.
- Accurately document the flow of events from start through completion of the procedure.
- Perform surgical scrubbing duties and assist physicians during minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures, preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile field.
- Use fine motor skills to assist physician with placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, IABP, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters.
- Manage and manipulate X‑ray equipment.
- Ensure the patient is positioned properly for the procedure.
- Ensure EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied.
- Ensure skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping.
- Perform monitoring functions throughout procedures.
- Document clinical information in patient records.
- Operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm.
- Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms.
- Accurately document the flow of events from start through completion of the procedure.
- Daily scheduling and chart preparation for procedures.
- Perform daily maintenance.
- Quality assurance testing.
- Equipment cleaning.
- Supply re‑stocking.
Graduation from an accredited school:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Previous general radiologic technologist experience for one year.
- Previous Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Interventional Radiology Lab experience.
- Current licensure as a ARRT (NE) / RCIS.
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS‑CPR).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
