Job Summary and Responsibilities

Up to $5,000 Sign on Bonus Available

Up to $7,000 in Education Assistance Available

Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs (Pay will differ per position)

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Certification in Surgical Technology preferred but not required

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan is a tertiary care academic teaching center and primary referral center for cardiovascular disease for the region. It is a high volume designated TAVR center with excellent outcomes. It performs a high volume of cardiovascular surgery including a wide range of complex cases and interventional cases. The medical faculty is highly qualified with many years of experience enjoys teaching and is very supportive and inviting to the staff.
