Summary
This position is located in the DEA, Rocky Mountain Division Office, Minneapolis/St. Paul District Office, Omaha Division Office and Dallas Division Office. The primary purpose is to serve as a key resource at the state and national levels in accordance with state jurisdictions for all registration applicants authorized to manufacture, distribute, and prescribe controlled substances under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
SalaryRange (including locality pay)
- Rocky Mountain Division Office - Centennial, Colorado: $68,819 – $108,251 per year
- Minneapolis/St. Paul District Office - Minneapolis, Minnesota: $67,290 – $105,845 per year
- Omaha Division Office - Omaha, Nebraska: $62,339 – $98,058 per year
- Dallas Division Office - Dallas, Texas: $67,100 – $105,547 per year
- Serve as the registration representative and sole point of contact for the license registration program in a geographic region.
- Review all registration transactions to verify the internal control process has been followed and reject those not completed in compliance with agency standards and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain liaison by phone and correspondence with state licensing boards and registration agencies.
- Conduct presentations and training sessions about DEA's Registration Program and process to the registrant community.
- Answer questions about a wide variety of registration requirements, procedures, and problems.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service:
Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. - Successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
- Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
- May be required to serve a 1‑year probationary or 2‑year trial period during which the agency evaluates fitness and public interest impact.
- Employment is subject to successful completion of a background investigation and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- All selected applicants will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
Applicants applying for GS‑9 must meet one of the following:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑07 in the Federal service that demonstrates ability to: prepare reports and correspondence; interpret and advise on regulations or standards; analyze information; and identify and resolve issues.
- Education:
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full academic years of graduate-level education. - Combination of education and experience:
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. Compute the percentage as described.
Applicants applying for GS‑11 must meet one of the following:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑09 in the Federal service that demonstrates ability to: analyze and retrieve criminal history reports; conduct presentations or training; prepare written documentation of research findings; advise on regulations affecting diversion registration program registrants.
- Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education; or LL.M. if related. - Combination of education and experience:
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. Compute the percentage as described.
Specialized experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations.
