Spectrum Financial is a private equity-focused family office headquartered in Omaha, NE. Spectrum invests across a broad range of public and private assets with an industry-agnostic mandate, underpinned by long-term, flexible capital. We partner with founders, family-owned businesses, and private equity professionals looking for differentiated, supportive capital.

Spectrum’s areas of focus include control and non-control equity in operating businesses, non-bank lending, and active management of a broad portfolio of assets that include investments in private equity, real estate, hedge funds, venture capital, and public securities.

About the Role

Spectrum is seeking a highly motivated, capable investment professional to join our investment team as an Associate in a rigorous and fast-paced environment.

The role will have a wide range of responsibilities that span the business in areas including research, due diligence, and execution of new investment opportunities, portfolio company management, and reporting/analytics. Self-motivation, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to solve ambiguous, real-world problems will be critical to success in this role.

The Associate role will begin as soon as practicable. Compensation and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with a candidate’s experience.

What You Will Do

  • Support current investments in operating businesses and other portfolio holdings including board-level strategy, performance analysis, ongoing diligence, and financing / operating initiatives
  • Assist in the development and execution of capital allocation decisions
  • Conduct ad hoc investment-related projects as needed
  • Thematic and industry-specific research
What ideal candidates will bring to the organization:
  • 2-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, investment management, or other finance-related fields
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
  • Experience and/or demonstrated interest in principal investing
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Power Point
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Long-term approach to building an investment career
  • Comfort working on a small, performance-oriented team
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Outgoing and personable demeanor

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This role does not offer current or future visa sponsorship or transfer support.
