In the role of an ICT Security Designer, HDR counts on you to contribute to these efforts and to help lead innovation and engineer impact.

Responsibilities
  • General engineering knowledge of either the telecommunication (Horizontal/Backbone cabling) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
  • Design cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems and proper bonding systems.
  • Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design.
  • Define and develop complete project-related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system-related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.
  • Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project-related requirements.
  • Edit telecommunications or security specifications specific to the project.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
  • Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Entry level to five years of related work experience
  • 2–10 years of related work experience
  • “Can-Do” mindset and problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus. Must be able to learn new applications quickly
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and relevant experience
