Overview

Senior Municipal Engineer, Houston Engineering, Inc.
• Omaha, NE, US

We are seeking to add municipal engineering as a service in our Omaha, NE office. As a Senior Civil Engineer at Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI), you will help define the character of cities and neighborhoods through work on private and public urban projects, help decide on go/no-go proposals, further develop client relationships, secure new work, and mentor and lead team members to deliver projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, or market demand.
  • Prepare engineering documents, including design reports, cost estimates, and project schedules, in accordance with the latest governing codes.
  • Effectively manage budgets, schedules, and timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in pre-project presentations, interviews, client meetings, and preconstruction meetings.
  • Lead and mentor other civil engineers assigned to projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer license in NE or ability to obtain within six months.
  • 8+ years of experience preferred, with recent experience in NE.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with project management and budgeting.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and clients.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
