ResponsibilitiesThe role reports to the Property Manager AE and supports Allianz Commercial and its customers through Property Risk Engineering expertise. Responsibilities combine field engineering (on‑site risk evaluation) and account engineering (desk‑top review) activities, including:
- Independently support large corporate clients or those with complex business occupancies and structures. Conduct on‑site field engineering survey assessments and plan reviews, evaluate exposures and controls, and provide guidance and professional advice to clients and underwriting from both a location‑level and a program‑wide perspective.
- Survey large client operations in all business segments: obtain data, identify hazards, discuss findings, and generate comprehensive risk engineering reports and recommendations. Collaborate with underwriting, clients, and brokers to develop tailored loss‑control programmes and services, including scope and cost of risk consulting services.
- Generate accurate work products (e.g., Account Engineering annual summaries, prospect desktop reviews, risk engineering survey reports, confirmation letters) that align with Account Service Instructions/Global Standard Operating Procedure requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Manage time, organization, and communication with both internal and external customers, balancing field survey and prospect/account review workloads, and maintaining smooth workflow through proactive communication and follow‑up.
- Assist Allianz Commercial and clients with ongoing or specific projects. Support additional ARC Services and articulate solutions to client concerns, participate in ARC initiatives and cross‑functional projects, and help train and present to clients, industry groups, and internal stakeholders.
- Minimum 5 years loss‑prevention engineering experience in an HPR‑type insurance environment relevant to the Line of Business (Property).
- Experience managing/co‑ordinating large global corporate property accounts across multiple occupancy sectors, including specialist industries (semiconductor, chemical/pharmaceutical, automotive) and hazards (Nat‑Cat, BI/IBI/CBI/supply‑chain, emerging risks).
- Understanding of the property insurance industry, including insurance terminology and the technical aspects of property risk engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or an engineering discipline (Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical). Degrees in related disciplines are considered with extensive technical expertise or experience.
- Strong expertise in Property Risk Engineering and familiarity with diverse occupancies and associated hazards.
- Familiarity with Fire Protection guidelines such as NFPA or FM Global, and a commitment to ongoing knowledge of developments and new technologies.
- Ability to apply technical loss‑control concepts and promote ARC services as solutions for client concerns.
- Self‑motivated, effective in both home‑office and team environments, proactive in adopting new technologies, processes, and working methods.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the U.S., with potential for some Canada or international travel.
