AECOM has a position available for a High Voltage Transmission Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility transmission design. This hybrid role can be based out of any AECOM office located in the west or mid‑west United States and requires experience in the power delivery industry and electrical engineering for utility‑scale transmission line development.

• Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
• Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Develop project schedules and define technical staff for projects and daily work.
• Mentor technical staff through instruction of engineering principles and governing electrical and safety codes.
• Instruct and teach staff in the use of computer systems, software, tools, equipment, and company‑owned vehicles.
• Provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs prior to submissions.
• Collaborate with department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures reflecting best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other divisions on company‑wide initiatives.
• Maintain great relationships with existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of related experience.
• Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
• Experience with PLS‑CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD.

• 5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Professional disposition and open‑minded approach to planning and execution.
• Ability to effectively supervise a project team of Engineers and Engineering Technicians while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and integration into daily activities.
• Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry‑relevant standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Compensation: $110,000 – $160,000 yearly, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
