Central / West Tunnel Practice Lead – HDR
HDR invites a seasoned tunneling professional to lead hydraulic tunnel projects across the Central and West regions. The role blends technical oversight, client relationship building, and strategic program leadership.
Responsibilities- Lead technical design reviews and constructability studies for major tunnel and trenchless projects.
- Manage risk, quality control, and go/no‑go decisions during project pursuit and execution.
- Coordinate with national practice leads, technical advisors, and geotechnical cross‑sector teams.
- Support business development by maintaining client relations and contributing to the overall quality of project delivery.
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of tunneling design and construction experience, including SEM, NATM, and other tunnel technologies.
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering across varied ground conditions.
- Proficiency in numerical analysis software (FLAC, UDEC, PHASES2, PLAXIS, MODFLOW, etc.).
- Demonstrated business development skills and professional organization engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 10+ years related experience with a minimum of 5 years project management experience.
- Professional engineer license (PE or equivalent) required.
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access a plus).
- Leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
