Job Title Agency Director within Student Government Association - Office of Student Involvement - Student Worker Only Department Student Involvement

Essential Functions
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of DEIA and attend scheduled meetings with the SGA Advisor.
  • Provide resources and programs to be utilized by the broad-based student population of UNO in alignment with the agency’s mission.
  • Host a minimum of two (2) student engagement events per semester (e.g., outreach, tabling, programs)
  • Submit an annual budget as part of the Student Activities Budget Commission (SABC) process on behalf of their Agency.
  • Form and manage a board of students, comprised of members of SGA
  • Utilize the student engagement platform, MavSYNC, to maintain accurate member rosters, submit events, and upload purchase requests
  • Complete monthly reports summarizing updates, successes, and challenges
  • Oversee agency data tracking and assessment, including event attendance, program impact, and board/member retention trends
  • Conduct monthly Agency meetings and upload minutes and all other operational documents to the designated Share Point
  • Maintain an active Agency presence on social media that reflects the values of SGA. Messaging must represent the agency as a part of SGA and not reflect personal beliefs
  • Respond to all SGA communications within a timely manner, unless excused
  • Support leadership transition by providing necessary documents, reports, and guidance to ensure agency continuity
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned
Work Schedule

Up to 10 hours a week during Fall and Spring semesters. Up to 6 hours per week during the summer sessions.

Additional Duties

Agency Government Association (SGA) Agencies are not separate entities from SGA – they are SGA. Each agency serves as an extended branch and focus group of SGA, intentionally designed to elevate advocacy and student well-being across campus. Agency Directors play a critical role in creating cohesion between the student body, the university community, and SGA by leading mission‑driven programming and outreach efforts.

Directors are expected to collaborate closely with fellow student leaders and supporting staff to advance the goals of SGA and reflect the needs of UNO’s campus.

Agency Directors are appointed through a formal application and selection process, with final confirmation by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Student Senate. All Agency Directors are expected to comply with governing documents, including, but not limited to, the Bylaws and Policy Index. Additionally, they must adhere to University, UNO Human Resources, and Student Government Employment procedures. Failure to comply may result in corrective action and/or removal from the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled UNO student in good standing with the university
  • Must have at least a 2.0 G.P.A.
  • Agency Directors must attend a policy review meeting with the Director of DEIA and sign an agreement acknowledging the expectations and performance standards of the role
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with civic engagement or volunteering
  • Willingness to work in collaboration with others
