Job Purpose / Overview
The 1st Grade Teacher is responsible for providing a nurturing, faith-filled learning environment that supports the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of young learners. The teacher integrates Catholic values and teachings throughout the curriculum while fostering a love of learning and respect for others.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in all core subject areas
• Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily classroom instruction
• Prepare students for foundational faith milestones (as appropriate, e.g., sacramental awareness)
• Create a safe, structured, and caring classroom environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of young learners
• Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student growth and development
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration to support student success
• Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, professional development, and faculty meetings

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Valid teaching certification (or eligibility/willingness to obtain)
• Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood development and instructional best practices
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
