The Student Well-Being and Financial Empowerment VISTA initiative strengthens student financial stability and overall wellness through integrated programming, strategic partnerships, and data-driven planning. The VISTA member will design and pilot a comprehensive financial literacy program focused on budgeting, saving, credit management, and student loan education. This includes researching best practices from peer institutions, developing workshop curriculum, coordinating campus and community partnerships, recruiting participants, and implementing assessment tools to measure reach and impact.
Using campus needs assessment data, the VISTA will identify key student challenges related to mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Benchmark research will guide the development or enhancement of wellness initiatives tailored to student needs. Recommendations will be compiled into actionable reports for campus leadership. The project will establish and strengthen partnerships with campus departments and community organizations to create a coordinated approach to student health, addressing topics like stress management, nutrition, physical activity, and self-care.
Efforts will also focus on increasing student awareness of and access to health and counseling services. Evaluation is central to the initiative. The VISTA will develop surveys, tracking systems, and assessment models to measure program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement. Throughout the project, the VISTA will maintain detailed documentation, meet weekly with stakeholders, and produce sustainability plans to ensure lasting institutional impact.

Member Duties :
This VISTA will research different programmatic designs and models, formulate new ideas, present ideas to key stakeholders, make edits, pilot ideas, build assessment models to gather feedback, and report out on findings. This VISTA will also maintain detail notes and documentation and meet with key project stakeholders to review progress along the way.
