Description of Work:

The Facilities Manager for the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and the Glenn Korff School of Music is responsible for the management, safety, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and space scheduling that support teaching, creative research, and public performance. This position plays a vital role in ensuring optimal functionality of performance and instructional environments, supporting students, faculty, staff, and visiting artists.

The Facilities Manager collaborates with university departments and external contractors to ensure effective facility operations and serves as a key liaison for facilities‑related needs across both Schools.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, performing arts, architecture, engineering, or a related field plus three years of experience in facilities operations, building maintenance, or venue management. Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and scheduling or facilities management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in performing arts facilities or academic environments.
  • Familiarity with audiovisual systems, building automation systems, or performance technologies.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and fire/life safety codes. Knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental health and safety issues, and codes.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
