Special Education Resource Paraprofessional; CHAP

Overview

Applications are being accepted for a 6 hour 45 minute per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at the CHAP Center. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The paraprofessional helps special education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.

• Supervising and working with students one on one and in small groups when needed
• Assisting the teacher in the classroom
• Lifting, giving physical assistance, assisting in the lunchroom, and with toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building

• Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others with or without reasonable accommodations
• Capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment

This position is subject to a veterans preference. Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
