Nebraska Medicine (NM), in proud partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), seeks an inspiring and forward-thinking Transplant Hepatologist to serve as Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program.

Why This Role Is SpecialThe multi-organ program performs all major solid organ transplants, including very substantial liver transplant volumes. It is a dual adult/pediatric program that supports Children’s Nebraska with pediatric liver transplant care.
With 536 intestine transplants to-date, the intestine program is ranked #2 in the US for cumulative intestine transplant volumes.
The multi-organ program is a cornerstone service for the institution and the region, and the team benefits from strong institutional support and a unified culture of teamwork and innovation.
Leadership ResponsibilitiesLead program strategy, expand the team, strengthen regional partnerships, mentor faculty, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidate ProfileMinimum 5 years post-fellowship, BC in Gastroenterology or Transplant Hepatology, eligible for UNOS primary physician status and Nebraska licensure, with academic rank of Associate Professor or higher preferred.
