A Vision-Driven Leadership Role

This is a rare opportunity to define the next decade of liver transplant care in the region—shaping strategy, expanding regional impact, and advancing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered excellence.

Why This Role Is Special

The multi-organ program performs all major solid organ transplants, including very substantial liver transplant volumes. It is a dual adult/pediatric program that supports Children’s Nebraska with pediatric liver transplant care.

With 536 intestine transplants to-date, the intestine program is ranked #2 in the US for cumulative intestine transplant volumes.

The multi-organ program is a cornerstone service for the institution and the region, and the team benefits from strong institutional support and a unified culture of teamwork and innovation.

Leadership Responsibilities

Lead program strategy, expand the team, strengthen regional partnerships, mentor faculty, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

Minimum 5 years post-fellowship, BC in Gastroenterology or Transplant Hepatology, eligible for UNOS primary physician status and Nebraska licensure, with academic rank of Associate Professor or higher preferred.

Compensation & Support

Highly competitive package including salary, retirement contributions and deferred compensation opportunities; comprehensive malpractice insurance; and a full suite of health and wellness benefits.
