Orthopedic Hospitalist Opportunity in Omaha, Nebraska

Join the top orthopedic and neurosurgery private practice in Omaha in a newly created hospitalist/traumatologist role that prioritizes autonomy, work-life balance, and financial growth. This unique opportunity allows you to focus on trauma care during the day, with no night call, and optional elective practice development. Practice Overview
  • Orthopedic hospitalist / traumatologist position supporting the orthopedic surgeons.
  • You’ll join a respected private orthopedic group with 20+ partners across multiple subspecialties.
  • Dedicated OR block each morning, followed by consults, rounds, and post‑op management.
  • 400–500 cases annually including hip fractures, ankle fractures, periprosthetic fractures, and infections.
  • No spine cases; all surgeries and consults are performed by the 6 neurosurgeons.
Schedule
  • Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM‑5:00 PM schedule with no weeknight call.
  • Only 1 weekend of call per month; home for dinner every night.
  • Flexible opportunity to build elective cases alongside hospitalist duties.
  • On‑call physician takes over after 5 PM.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $500,000 base salary with 45% collections‑based bonus above base.
  • Partnership track beginning Year 2 with average collections of $1.4M and 30%+ ROI surgical hospital buy‑in.
  • $25,000–$50,000 sign‑on bonus and up to $15,000 relocation assistance.
  • 4‑6 weeks PTO, malpractice with tail, CME stipend, full benefits, and retirement plan.
Candidate Requirements
  • Board‑eligible or board‑certified in orthopedic surgery.
  • Fellowship in trauma or strong general orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with shoulder‑to‑ankle pathology; no spine required.
  • Business‑minded team player interested in partnership and long‑term growth.
