Division Chief of General Pediatrics
Children’s Nebraska in affiliation with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine is currently accepting applications for Division Chief of General Pediatrics. Academic pediatric generalists at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply. All individuals will hold faculty appointments at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Research interests are strongly desired and supported. The candidate will have administrative, academic and clinical practice management experience within a complex, pediatric tertiary care center.
In this role, the Division Chief will lead the faculty in all clinical and academic mission areas, including clinical service, education of trainees at all levels, research program development, and administrative activities of all divisional programs. Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop trust and work cooperatively in a diverse and inclusive environment are essential.
The successful candidate will provide patient care at the Children’s Physicians clinic ldren’s Physicians is the primary care pediatric group for Children’s Nebraska, providing direct access to patients and families. The clinic at UNMC consists of 12 pediatricians and 2 APPs. Additionally, it serves as a true Medical Home with services such as social work, nursing case management, and behavioral health specialists available to all our physicians and families.
The UNMC clinic is a residency training center with a heavy focus on creating meaningful experiences for our learners.
The Child Health Research Institute, an innovative partnership between UNMC and Children’s Nebraska, promotes research in pediatric health, consolidates research in pediatric disease from both hospitals into one institute, and advances knowledge about childhood health and diseases. It was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start‑up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research.
Key Responsibilities- Lead clinical and academic mission areas, including clinical service, education of trainees at all levels, and research program development.
- Oversee administrative activities of all divisional programs.
- Provide patient care at the Children’s Physicians clinic, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote and support research initiatives through the Child Health Research Institute.
- Academic pediatric generalist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
- Administrative, academic, and clinical practice management experience in a complex, pediatric tertiary care center.
