We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care, supporting general dentistry procedures, and fostering a comfortable environment for patients of all ages.
Your proficiency in dental terminology, infection control, and dental office systems will ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences.
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote oral health and prevent disease.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to inform treatment plans.
- Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Operate medical imaging equipment such as digital X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical coding in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive information appropriately.
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment within the dental clinic.
- Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatrics and working effectively with young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and uphold high standards of patient care.
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice clinically.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments within a dental office or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation standards relevant to dental practice management.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing chairside assisting skills alongside the dentist during procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
