As a Guest Experience Associate at Lauritzen Gardens, you play a key role in creating welcoming, engaging, and memorable experiences for our visitors. This position supports our mission of education and conservation by delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with events, and ensuring smooth daily operations in the Visitor Center.
We are hiring for part-time positions.
Part-time position must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and assist visitors with warmth, professionalism, and service-oriented mindset.
- Share information about Lauritzen Gardens' mission, exhibits, educational programs, and events.
- Respond to visitor questions and address concerns with care and discretion.
- Assist with way finding and navigation throughout the gardens.
- Process admissions, memberships, and retail transactions.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and accurately handle cash and credit card payments.
- Promote memberships, programs, and retail merchandise to support the organization's mission.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Visitor Center environment.
- Stock, organize, and display merchandise.
- Open and close the Visitor Center as scheduled.
- Assist with crowd flow and guest management during busy periods and special events.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the garden's mission.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Commitment to customer service and public engagement.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience handling cash and using point-of-sale systems preferred.
- Ability to stay organized and maintain a welcoming public space.
- Willingness to learn about the gardens, its mission, and its programs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry items, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
