Description
Ledcor is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to lead a large‑scale long‑haul fiber installation project. The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance. They will anticipate client needs, provide solutions, and mentor colleagues. Travel up to 100% of the time will be required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
- Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to overall project schedules.
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
- Track and report on the financial aspects of the project.
- Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
- Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent.
- Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
- Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees and sub‑contractors.
- Problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
Working Conditions
- Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working at heights.
- Work requires travel 100% of the time and may involve all weather conditions.
