Description

The Senior Payment Operations Specialist supports enterprise payment operations by managing issue intake, conducting research across internal systems, and coordinating resolution with internal and external partners. This role serves as a central operational resource, ensuring payment-related issues are addressed efficiently and consistently while maintaining continuity across workflows and initiatives.

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position. Employees in this role are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.

Specific Duties
  • Manage and triage incoming payment‑related inquiries through the shared payments inbox.
  • Research payment, account‑level, and transaction‑level issues using internal systems and tools.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and external partners across the organization.
  • Support payment‑related account terminations, reconciliations, and follow‑up activities.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process or workflow improvements.
  • Maintain documentation and visibility to highlight issue trends and resolutions.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting payment operations or related financial workflows.
  • Strong research and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple internal teams.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting broader team objectives.
  • 3+ years’ experience in payment operations required.
Location

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Omaha, Nebraska. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full‑time.
